Fire Ants: The Invincible Army
For over 80 years, fire ants have spread across the U.S., causing up to six billion dollars annually in crop damage, equipment repair, and pest control. They now occupy over 530,000 square miles in 13 states and have caused at least 80 deaths. Fatalities are uncommon, occurring mainly in highly allergic individuals or those stung numerous times. The ants continue their global invasion.
